HIGH SCHOOLS Puxico Puxico High School is in Stoddard County and is a member of the Stoddard County Activities Association. The school opened in 1919, but its basketball program didn't begin until the 1930-31 season. Arnold Ryan, who coached from 1945 to 1953 and again in 1957, is one of the most successful coaches in Missouri high school history and was the subject of an autobiography by Matt Cheney in the mid 1990s.
