Sikeston Int. Raceway

Sikeston International Raceway opened its season without the Late Model division, but that class returned three times under United Midwestern Promoters sanction in June and July; the June 15 event became the first-ever UMP event west of the Mississippi River (Randy Sellars of Kentucky became the first UMP race winner west of the Mississippi by virtue of his heat race win; Jerry Inmon of Mississippi won that night's feature). The track's Hobby class highlighted the weekly program but was dropped after this season.
