1986 Season Recap
Sikeston International Raceway opened its season without the Late Model division, but that class returned three times under United Midwestern Promoters sanction in June and July, including the June 15 event that became the first-ever UMP event west of the Mississippi River (Randy Sellars of Kentucky became the first UMP race winner in Missouri by virtue of his heat race win; Jerry Inmon of Mississippi became the state's first UMP feature race winner). The track's Hobby class headlined the weekly program but was dropped after this season.
